The spray machine helps achieve a thorough cleansing of the skin’s surface. It is cool and soothing, and has a pleasant fragrance. The suction machine is helpful in the deep pore cleansing of the skin and is used to flush out the pores, especially after suction and extraction of blackheads or pimples. The spray rinses the skin and also helps restore the skin’s acid mantle. The vacuum acts like acts like a miniature vacuum cleaner to suction out dirt, grease and other impurities. Following the vacuum step, blackheads and grease deposits will be more easily extracted with manual pressure.
The vacuum also gives a deep penetrating massage and draws blood to the surface of the skin.
The machine has three glass suction attachments and may be used on all skin types except in areas that are heavily couperosed (broken capillaries) or an oily skin. Suction is always performed after desincrustation.
The primary action of the High Frequency Machine is thermal, or heat producing. Because of the rapid oscillation of the frequency there are no muscular contractions. The physiological effects are either stimulating or soothing, depending on the method of application. All treatments given with high-frequency should be started with a mild current and gradually increased to the required strength. The length of the treatment depends upon the condition to be treated. For general facial treatment, approximately three to five minutes should be allowed.
Galvanic current is used to create two significant reactions in esthetics: chemical (disincrustation) and ionic (iontophoresis). The galvanic unit introduces water-soluble products into the skin. Using the negative pole, you can soften the sebum and blackheads that are accumulated in the follicles. Or with the positive pole, you can help settle astringent, gel, cream, or an ampoule into your client’s skin. Galvanic facial machines convert oscillating current from an electrical outlet into a direct current. Electrons are then allowed to flow continuously in the same direction. This creates a relaxation response that can be used to target specific nerve endings in the epidermis.
